Prior to starting Coast PR, Jeanne worked at Weber Shandwick, one of the largest public relations agencies in the industry.

Melissa Penn joined Coast Public Relations in February 2012. At Coast PR, Melissa utilizes her strong writing, creativity and strategic skills to help manage media relations, press materials development and events for Coast PR’s diverse range of clients. Some of her key accomplishments to date include securing several KCAL-TV (CBS) segments and a KTLA-TV segment, as well as placements in top trade and consumer outlets, including: Adweek, Ad Age, Denver Post, Orange County Register, LA Weekly, CNBC.com, and small business articles with Entrepreneur.com, Associated Press and MSN.com. She also has a strong network of mommy blogger relationships.
As a seasoned public relations professional with nearly a decade of experience in media relations, strategic writing and planning, budgeting and event management, Melissa has worked at large and boutique agencies in Los Angeles and New York. She has a diverse PR background having worked on startup sports websites, entertainment mobile apps, travel sites, as well as healthcare, beauty, consumer and nutrition accounts.
Prior to joining Coast Public Relations, Melissa served as an Account Supervisor at Atomic PR, a consumer tech PR firm in Los Angeles. While at Atomic PR, Melissa led PR efforts for consumer tech and travel accounts including the startups, ScoreBig.com , an online ticket retail site, Moonshark, a mobile entertainment company founded by CAA and Qualcomm, and one of the leading online travel sites, Hotwire.com.
Before working at Atomic PR, Melissa managed PR efforts for Mentor Worldwide, Amgen and InterMune at Hill & Knowlton. At H&K in Santa Monica, Calif. Melissa helped to raise awareness of breast reconstruction, osteoporosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis through strategic press materials, third-party partnerships, events, media outreach and controlled media vehicles. Melissa also gained PR experience working at Ruder Finn, the largest privately held PR firm in New York, on Novartis where she assisted in the development and implementation of PR, marketing and communications efforts for high blood pressure and influenza consumer education campaigns.
Melissa launched her PR career at CarryOn Communication in Los Angeles where she supervised consumer programs for Nature Made, OLAY Vitamins and Nature’s Resource herbal supplements.
Melissa graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors of Science in Public Relations and minors in French and Theatre. She enjoys independent films, yoga, health food and reading French literature.
Mitch Cavender joined Coast Public Relations in June 2015, and provides fundamental day-to-day account support for Coast PR’s consumer accounts, including: CKE Restaurants, California Pizza Kitchen, Yitzhak Rabin Foundation, and Fireman’s Brew. From managing media monitoring and coverage reports to providing vital research and assisting with media outreach and press materials development, Mitch plays a key role on the Coast PR team. He also has a passion for editing and enjoys proofreading.
Prior to joining Coast Public relations, Mitch gained a breadth of client relations experience in several professional arenas. He previously served as a Project Leader with the Alliance to Save Energy, and helped manage social media marketing and community management for Dr. Tattoff.
Outside of the office, Mitch devotes his time to sports. He spent several years coaching high school football in California and the Pacific Northwest, and also served as the Head Coach of a gold-medalist Team USA Quidditch team at the 2014 Global Games.
Mitch studied at the University of Southern California, where he graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Communication.

Andrew Meehan, MHA, is Director of Coast’s Marketing and Business Strategy. Andrew has unique expertise and experience in creating and implementing senior level strategic communications marketing programs with an emphasis on health & wellness and healthcare programming, including brokering third-party partnerships, cross-brand and corporate communications strategies, and providing consumer marketing expertise across system-wide networks.
Prior to joining Coast Public Relations, Andrew worked at Kaufman Hall, where he was a member of both the healthcare solutions and strategy consulting practices. While at Kaufman Hall, he managed a variety of consulting engagements and business-development activities focused on clinical program development and physician/hospital integration strategy.
Andrew began his career in management consulting with Medical Development Specialists where he led several positions of increasing responsibility.
Andrew is a respected team leader, mentor and problem solver with highly proficient writing and presentation skills.
Andrew received his B.S., and Master’s of Healthcare Administration, with honors, from the University of Southern California.

After eToys.com, Caroline served as an Account Manager at Allison & Partners, an award-winning international public relations agency, where she oversaw media relations and account management for a wide range of consumer tech, beverage, legal and non-profit clients including: YouTube, LegalZoom.com, Children Affected by AIDS Foundation’s Dream Halloween Party, Cakebread Cellars, Guidance Software, The Michelin Guide and Riordan Lewis and Haden.

Senior Media Relations Specialist
Amanda Tsang brings a wide variety of public relations experience to Coast PR in the digital media, technology, consumer and social impact arenas. Amanda applies her extensive media relations, event planning and social media experience to both startups and established brands/organizations. Amanda’s recent experience include social media management platform, Spredfast, online sharing platform, Posterous (acquired by Twitter), mobile video calling service, Tango, and legal firm Avid Law Center.
Amanda most recently worked as a senior account executive at Allison & Partners, an international communications firm with PR and marketing expertise in technology and digital media. Amanda was responsible for day-to-day account maintenance, media relations, strategic planning and pitch development for clients in the consumer, technology and digital media practices including recognized brands such as YouTube, Best Western and Progressive Insurance, as well as startup companies such as Ning (acquired by CBS Interactive), Machinima and RippleTV. In addition, Amanda has led community outreach and corporate social responsibility campaigns for clients such as Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, eHarmony.
Before joining Allison & Partners, Amanda worked for the City of Anaheim in Orange County, California, where she assisted in the execution of large-scale events and contests for the City’s 150th anniversary campaign. Prior to that, she worked with the Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center, an organization dedicated to providing arts education to under-privileged children in Orange County.
